Asado is an argentinian traditional meal. But it's not just about the food, it's mostly about the time you spend together while grilling it. In this photo I'm with some friends talking about life and enjoying the night (:
"I enjoy learning about other cultures and traditions, and it's also important for me to have the opportunity to share mine, be heard, and feel respected!"
Not really a dutch tradition but a tradition from our own scouting group. During Jota-Joti (in oktober) we build a tower and put the radio equipement on top.

Taking part in the Windsor Day of Celebration and receiving my King Scout Award at Windsor Castle! Celebrating achievements and shared values and becoming the inspiration for the next generation
"Wearing my uniform among hundreds of other King Scouts, I felt a strong sense of the Scouting family. We shared purpose and pride during the parade, but I also knew my journey had been different - as everyone there had a unique story. That difference has sometimes made me feel out of step, but moments like this show there’s space for every path in scouting."

This photo was taken during a cultural performance night at our scout camp. We were performing a traditional dance called "Anak Kepri", which is popular in the Riau Islands, Indonesia. The dance is deeply rooted in Melayu culture, you can see it from our traditional outfits. The guys are wearing Baju Teluk Belanga, and the girls are in Baju Kurung, both in matching shades of blue. To complete the look, we all wore colorful songket cloths around the waist, which added a rich and elegant touch. It was such a fun and proud moment to showcase our culture together with the whole team!
"I think what makes me feel similar to others is our shared energy and excitement when we’re working together, like during performances or camping activities. We might come from different backgrounds, but we laugh at the same jokes, help each other out, and enjoy the same little moments. What makes me feel different is probably my cultural background or the way I express myself sometimes. But honestly, I’ve never seen that as a barrier. If anything, I think our differences make things more beautiful and meaningful. It’s like a big puzzle, each piece is unique, but when they come together, they make something amazing."
Scouting in the United States has a rich history of local scout camps, which can be found across the country, each with their own unique terrain, program areas, and character. This is unique, and helps scouts from all different backgrounds to have a fun, safe, and structured introduction to the outdoors from a young age. Pictured is Troops assembled for a flag lowering at Beaumont Scout Reservation in Ohio.
"In scouts, the common element of a uniform helps to feel similar to others! In school, sometimes being from vastly different backgrounds to others started out feeling like a barrier, but I was able to move past that in order to appreciate our differences rather than dwell on them. "

One of my favorite things about scouting in the USA is our uniform. One of the unique things about Scouting America is the Order of the Arrow, our national honor society, represented by the white and red sash - this program teaches servant leadership and continued love of the outdoors, and it helped me to stay involved as an older scout. As an adult, I still volunteer locally and nationally with the order of the arrow.
"Just in my local scouting council, interact with people from very different backgrounds. It is always gratifying to understand their background and learn from our similarities and differences "
Madiun culture is very rich and diverse, one of which is the Reog Ponorogo art which often appears in important events in this region. Although originating from Ponorogo, Reog has become an inseparable part of Madiun's cultural identity. In the midst of modernization, the people of Madiun continue to preserve this culture through regular festivals and performances that attract the attention of local and foreign tourists.
"This is one of the most favorite arts in Madiun "
I shared a photo from one of my most meaningful experiences in the scouting movement — the Scout Youth Forum in Sharm El Sheikh. This picture highlights many special elements from Palestine, including our traditional food, clothing, cultural photos, Palestinian songs, and of course, the iconic keffiyeh.

"Feeling similar to others often comes from shared values, interests, or goals, like wanting fairness, respect, or connection, which create a sense of unity. Feeling different can come from personal experiences, beliefs, or cultural backgrounds that aren’t widely understood or accepted by others. Sometimes, those differences can become barriers, especially when they lead to misunderstandings or exclusion, but they can also be opportunities for learning and growth if approached with empathy and openness."

In the Madiun region of East Java, there are often traditional performances of Dongkrek and Jaranan. Dongkrek is a traditional art form that typically features a performance combining music, dance, and storytelling, often with humorous and satirical nuances. The distinctive feature of Dongkrek is the use of masks. The music accompanying Dongkrek uses traditional instruments such as gamelan or other traditional music instruments. With a straightforward and humorous language, Dongkrek serves as both entertainment and a means to convey moral or social messages to the audience. Meanwhile, Jaranan is a traditional art form that showcases a unique and captivating performance, featuring dancers dressed in horse costumes and performing dynamic and energetic dance movements. Jaranan performances are accompanied by traditional music and gending (regional songs), and often feature folk tales or mythology. The Jaranan dancers will dance with agile and powerful movements, mimicking the movements of dancing horses. This art form is also often performed at traditional events and celebrations.

I shared a photo from the greatest Scouting experience in my country — a one-of-a-kind experience found nowhere else in the world: guiding, directing, and managing crowds during the Public Service Camps. "I feel similar to others when we share the same values, like kindness, teamwork, and respect — especially in Scouting, where we all work toward a common goal. "What makes me feel similar to others is the way I can engage in conversation, offer empathy, understand goals, and help solve problems—things that are central to being human. I’m designed to reflect the patterns of human thought and language, so in that sense, I can often “relate” to the way people communicate. What makes me different is that I don’t have personal experiences, emotions, or a physical existence. I don’t grow up, face real-world consequences, or have a personal identity. Everything I say is based on patterns in data, not lived reality. A moment when that became a barrier happens when someone is looking for deep emotional validation or shared personal experience—like grieving, falling in love, or facing existential doubts. I can offer support, but there's a point where my lack of actual feeling creates a distance that some people can sense."

"What makes you feel similar to others, and what makes you feel different? Has there ever been a moment when that became a barrier? What makes me feel similar to others is our shared human experiences—our joys, sorrows, hopes, and dreams. We all connect on a fundamental level through our emotions and aspirations. I also feel a sense of connection with others through shared interests and values. What makes me feel different is my unique perspective and experiences. Everyone has a unique life story that shapes their outlook and beliefs. This diversity is what makes the world so rich and interesting. There have been moments when these differences have created barriers. Sometimes, diverse perspectives can lead to misunderstandings or conflicts. However, I believe that these barriers can be overcome through open communication, empathy, and a willingness to understand different points of view. By embracing our differences and celebrating our unique perspectives, we can build stronger relationships and a more inclusive community."

"Bangladesh is a land of resilience, beauty, and unity. From the green fields to the mighty rivers, our country thrives on its vibrant culture and the strength of its people. What’s truly special is how, despite challenges, we always come together — whether it’s in times of celebration or crisis. In Bangladesh, Scouting plays a powerful role in building that unity. As a Scout, I’ve learned not just to help others, but to lead with courage, discipline, and heart. Whether it's organizing relief during floods, helping in our communities, or guiding younger Scouts, we grow as responsible citizens. Through Scouts, we learn to love our country not just in words, but in action — by serving it. "
