In the Madiun region of East Java, there are often traditional performances of Dongkrek and Jaranan. Dongkrek is a traditional art form that typically features a performance combining music, dance, and storytelling, often with humorous and satirical nuances. The distinctive feature of Dongkrek is the use of masks. The music accompanying Dongkrek uses traditional instruments such as gamelan or other traditional music instruments. With a straightforward and humorous language, Dongkrek serves as both entertainment and a means to convey moral or social messages to the audience. Meanwhile, Jaranan is a traditional art form that showcases a unique and captivating performance, featuring dancers dressed in horse costumes and performing dynamic and energetic dance movements. Jaranan performances are accompanied by traditional music and gending (regional songs), and often feature folk tales or mythology. The Jaranan dancers will dance with agile and powerful movements, mimicking the movements of dancing horses. This art form is also often performed at traditional events and celebrations.
"I've felt similar to others in terms of interests, hobbies, values, and principles. But on the other hand, I've felt different in terms of personality, life experiences, creativity, and innovation. This has sometimes been an obstacle, as there are situations where differences or similarities can lead to misunderstandings or conflicts. However, with effective communication and empathy, we can overcome these obstacles and build better relationships."

Being a senior scout in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines provides a meaningful opportunity for personal growth and reflection. Engaging in outdoor activities fosters self-discovery and resilience. Our unique focus on Filipino culture and values, including the spirit of "Bayanihan," enriches our experiences and strengthens our identity. Community service projects emphasize civic responsibility, while pursuing advanced badges expands knowledge in vital areas. The friendships formed create a supportive network for sharing experiences. Overall, senior scouting builds confidence and enhances understanding of one’s role in the community.
"As a scout, shared values and group activities create a sense of unity, while individual perspectives and experiences can sometimes lead to challenges. Embracing diversity and effective communication can help us overcome obstacles and enrich the scouting experience."
One of my favorite things about scouting in the USA is our uniform. One of the unique things about Scouting America is the Order of the Arrow, our national honor society, represented by the white and red sash - this program teaches servant leadership and continued love of the outdoors, and it helped me to stay involved as an older scout. As an adult, I still volunteer locally and nationally with the order of the arrow.
"Just in my local scouting council, interact with people from very different backgrounds. It is always gratifying to understand their background and learn from our similarities and differences "

"Sometimes we feel the same as each other and that makes you closer even though you come from different backgrounds. "Bangladesh is a land of resilience, beauty, and unity. From the green fields to the mighty rivers, our country thrives on its vibrant culture and the strength of its people. What’s truly special is how, despite challenges, we always come together — whether it’s in times of celebration or crisis. In Bangladesh, Scouting plays a powerful role in building that unity. As a Scout, I’ve learned not just to help others, but to lead with courage, discipline, and heart. Whether it's organizing relief during floods, helping in our communities, or guiding younger Scouts, we grow as responsible citizens. Through Scouts, we learn to love our country not just in words, but in action — by serving it. "
